Who are we?

EcoT was founded in 2019 by our two directors, Thomas Young and Terry Carrol. Since our inception in 2019, we’ve grown to over 30 full-time members of staff which gives our team a combined over 50 years experience in helping Scottish residents to heat their home for less.

Our mission from the start of our journey 5 years ago was to help as many people as possible access government funding for energy saving projects to help lower their bills. Today, it’s more important than ever that we deliver on that mission.

How do I get access to funding?

Start by filling out our online form to check your eligibility and we will get in touch, it's a straight forward form that takes less than 2 minutes to complete.

Step 2

Answer Some Questions About Your Circumstances

Our team will call you to go through some simple qualification questions over the phone to find out if you can access funding, this should take no longer than a few minutes.

Step 3

Book Your Free, No Obligation Home Survey

Presuming that you qualify, one of our energy advisors will arrange a home visit to find out which energy saving measures are suitable for your home at a time convenient to you.

Step 4

Get Your Fitting Date

Once our survey has taken place and funding has been achieved we will arrange the install of your free home improvements at a point that is convenient for you and your family.

Step 5

Enjoy Heating Your Home, For Less

Where does the funding come from?

The ECO4 scheme in Scotland and the wider UK is the fourth and final part of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO). Previously, ECO, ECO2 and ECO3 were launched as campaigns to reduce carbon emissions and reduce fuel poverty across the UK.

ECO4 is funded by a number of medium and large energy companies operating in the UK in conjunction with the Government and a network of approved installers, you can see which companies are involved by clicking here to find out more.

What's the process for recieving funding?

Typically the process is fairly simple. We perform a free survey on your property to ensure that your property meets the criteria required, once we understand that the property is suitable we then collect some simple documentation to prove your eligibility. We then take some photos and create our funding file. Generally, within a week or two after this point our various teams will have been in touch to install your energy saving measures.

Do I need to pay anything back?

No, there’s absolutely nothing to pay back once the works are carried out. The ultimate goal of the ECO scheme is to help reduce fuel poverty across the UK, to achieve that goal the funding is handed out as a grant to ensure it doesn’t cause further hardship.

Is it REALLY free? What are the hidden costs?

Yes, if you qualify for funding it is entirely free! There are absolutely no hidden charges, if you’d like to pay towards a more expensive material or product to complete the measure (for example a more expensive boiler) there may be additional charges.

If you’re in receipt of any government benefit (including child benefit) it’s unlikely there will be any charge for works carried out.

What qualifications do your staff hold?

All of our Installation partners are PAS 2030 accredited and all renewable system install partner are accredited MCS members.

All improvement measures are fully guaranteed and come with full Trustmark backing.
